I have been hearing a lot of people debating which is better Nu-Style or Oldskewl / Early Hardstyle
Yesh the older stuff seemed alot harder, because there was usually no melody, just sounded like a mixture of progressing mid-intros throughout the song. I did and still do enjoy those kinda productions just to bang the crowd up. Then some people felt a need for change , and so hardstyle branched into a new form of Nu-style:
Nu-style is the result and change for new hardstyle goers, whats being played in the clubs at the moment. It consists usually of a phatt mid intros, followed by a euphoric break and melody similar to what trance djs do except a lot harder. A good example of Nu-style is Headhunterz, Showtek, Pitcher etc. I think it is a intelligent form of music as it combines the genius of music theory as well as the raw talent of hard basslines and leads.
Whats your take? I like both Styles and usually combine them in my sets.

Heres my 2 cents mate, i personly think most of the stuff coming out these days is to chessey, repetitive and use a lot of the same sounds, dudes like Headhunterz, Showtek ect.. have made hardstyle mainstream with is a good and a bad thing, good cuz its its getting the bpms up in the clubs with is always good for me, bad cuz you have everyone copying everyone elses sounds, not much originality out there, for example if i look at fearfms top 40 hardstyle tracks for the month i"ll only play about 4 of them the rest are shiiite...
So Oldskool rules for me.....
P.S Hardcore will take over again!!

yes im gonna have to agree on the hard houze theory....not me, its too monotonouse for me, but yes we all have our own styles and opinions....tony de wit was legend thou
kella i think the next two monthts we gonna c some stomping tunes....alot of ppl saying alot of cheese coming out, yes coz the number of producers have increased dramatically and every1 is just trying to make dance floor hits...
But when u hear the new proppy and heady ..... u will c what i mean
saw an interview on scantrax and they said they will be moving away from melodic 'nu style' stuff and going to bring in a completely new sound....lets c what the new headhunterzz studio sessions brings
